Michigan Women's Foundation

Power of 100 WomenDonate

Inspired by the belief that 100 women can accomplish anything they set out to do, Michigan Women’s Foundation created a signature support group to harness the energies and resources of those who wish to actively advance its mission of fostering economic empowerment for the state’s female population.

Together, their time, talents and dollars make a significant difference in equalizing the social, financial and professional well-being of Michigan’s women and girls. The success of this effort has allowed Michigan Women’s Foundation to:

  • Launch its Michigan Women's Microloan Fund to support the start up and growth of women owned businesses
  • Create an ecosystem of resources for women entrepreneurs
  • Advance the next generation of young women leaders
  • Lead the  state’s Women’s Agenda

Power of 100 Women requires a minimum pledge of $3,000 over three years and invites its members to play an active role in the Foundation’s programs and services, in ways that impact demonstrable change:

  • Assist in the development of business plans and provide practical counsel to those seeking Michigan Women's Microloan Funding
  • Mentor new entrepreneurs on their path to self-sufficiency
  • Judge pitch competitions for those advancing new business ideas
  • Share experience and expertise at the Entrepreneur YOU conference
  • Participate in the Belle Michigan venture capital fund investing in women owned businesses
  • Volunteer at programs for young women and girls

The original enrollment objective was accomplished in less than two years, with more than 175 women (and a few great men) signed on to offer both time and money, facilitating MWF’s goals to fund and support the start up of 100 businesses by 2017 and to prepare middle and high school aged girls for successful and impactful collegiate, career and community-focused lives.
